Without Iggy and the Stooges there would have been no punk music. Well, at least their raw, aggressive proto-punk hits “I Wanna Be Your Dog” or “No Fun” left their mark on subsequent rock musicians. When Iggy Pop founded the band The Stooges in Michigan in 1967, Josh Homme was not even born. The mastermind behind the Californian rock band Queens of the Stone Age is a quarter-century younger than the ‘Godfather of Punk’, who celebrated his 70th birthday this year. But the two rockers are brothers in spirit, who joined in 2015 for Pop’s album “Post Pop Depression”. The documentary American Valhalla captures the recording sessions in the Mojave Desert. The finale? Iggy, Josh and co. rock the Royal Albert Hall!
