Oasis: Supersonic

A great documentary about the golden years of the English band

The chorus ‘And so Sally can wait, she knows it's too late ...’ is so catchy that even after the seventh pint everyone can sing along: With Britpop anthems such as Don't Look Back in Anger or Wonderwall, Oasis have written pop music history. Twenty years after their heyday, the marvelous British documentary Supersonic shines a light on the authentic lad rockers from Manchester. Childhood photos, interviews, archival footage: the focus is on the brothers Noel and Liam. The only people the Gallaghers seemed to have respect for were John Lennon and their mother. They wreaked havoc in hotel rooms and studios – but they also broke records: 2.6 million fans applied for tickets to their two open air concerts in Knebworth, only one in ten could be there.
